Expository Info
My name is Karmin Perhar and I am a grade nine student at Bell High School. A very important aspect of my life is basketball. The object, the sport, the location where it is played and everything about it is a huge part of me that I don’t want to eliminate. Ever since I was eight years old, I have been playing basketball, recreational and competitive, with the Nepean Blue Devils Association. Basketball has changed my life by making me more organized, time efficient, patient, and hardworking. It has taught me leadership skills that help me handle and work with a team. Playing basketball has also taught me the joy of winning and the grief of losing. Whenever I’m upset about anything, all it takes to calm me down is a basketball. The feeling of holding it and throwing it against a wall can release a lot of my daily stress. As my family runs a business, my parents are constantly busy during the week. Basketball tournaments let my family and I spend some time together, whether it’s at the hotels or the games. Basketball is an athletic sport that I love to play. Life seems too incomplete without it.
